Crickee and PODMO

By chance I come across Crickee the day after learning about PODMO. Crickee is a little Java program that is downloaded to your mobile phone. It provides the facility for the user to SMS but the data is transmitted and received via the Mobiles Internet data connection.

This opens the door for very very cheap SMS
  • phone to phone
  • computer to computer
  • phone to computer
  • computer to phone
PODMO already has IM but only between Mobile Phone PODMO network users.

Just a small correction. Podmo can be used from a computer and from outside of the Podmo network. Users can utilise their data connection provided by their Telco the same as Crickee, which looks like a cool application. It is also possible to talk to Podmo users through any Jabber IM client on a computer Jabber Clients. We also plan to provide our own JavaME emulator which will allow users to run Podmo from their PC. For now users can use an emulator from Sun Wireless Toolkit

Thanks for that Che. I like the idea of being able to use, in particular, Jabber Clients. Very nice and I like your work.
